PhD in Development Studies
As a ‘sister institute’ of the University of Calcutta, IDSK has been allowed to conduct its own PhD programme in Development Studies under the auspices of the University of Calcutta in 2016. At present, the programme is monitored by a Research Advisory Committee set up by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calcutta, comprising Professors Rachana Chakraborty (University of Calcutta),Anjan Chakrabarti (University of Calcutta), Manabi Majumdar (Formerly of Centre for Studies in Social Sciences Calcutta), Rajarshi Majumder (University of Burdwan), and Achin Chakraborty (IDSK). The first batch of fifteen students was enrolled on 29 December 2016. Till May 2022 five batches took their admission.
