- Commemoration of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee
On 17 July 2026, IDSK organized a commemorative seminar remembering Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on the occasion of his 125th Birth Anniversary. The speakers in the seminar included Professor Amitava Das, School of Linguistic Studies & Director-in-Charge Institute of Language Studies and Research (ILSR), Kolkata, Professor Chhanda Chatterjee, Department of History, Visva Bharati University, Professor Pankaj Ray, Principal, Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College and Dr. Arup Mitra, Assistant Professor of Seth Anandaram Jaipuria College. Faculty, students, staff of IDSK and other invitees joined the programme.
- Paschimbanga Divas (West Bengal Day)
IDSK celebrated Paschimbanga Divas on 20 June 2026. The programme started with our national song Vande Mataram and a few devotional songs by our PhD student Shreya Saha. Professor Asutosh Ghosh, Vice-Chancellor, University of Calcutta , Professor Byasdeb Dasgupta, Director, IDSK and Dr. Anwesha Sengupta, Assistant Professor, IDSK spoke on the relevance of the special day. All faculty, staff and students participated in the programme.
- “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign
The state-wide observance of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was celebrated on 15th August 2026 at the IDSK. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Professor Byasdeb Dasgupta, Director, IDSK. All faculty members, staff, and students participated in the event to pay tribute to the National Flag and the Patriots of India. A short cultural programme was organized on this occasion, in which everyone enthusiastically participated by singing Vande Mataram and the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
