Professor Dr. Om Prakash Mishra, Honorary President of IDSK has been engaged in teaching, research, and research supervision at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, since 1987. He served as the Head of the Department of International Relations at the University (1994–1996 and 2018–2020) and was the Founder-Coordinator of the Centre for Refugee Studies. Prof. Mishra’s interests and expertise cover many issue areas in political economy, international relations, foreign policy, and national security.

In August 2004, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, invited Prof. Mishra to serve on the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB), a responsibility he carried out with distinction. In November 2005, the University Grants Commission invited him to chair an Expert Committee on Universities and Public Policy. He served as the Pro-Vice Chancellor of IGNOU (2007–2010), co-founded the Global India Foundation, and was the Dean of the Faculty Council of Arts at Jadavpur University. Prof. Mishra was a Member of the Board of Governors of MDI, Gurgaon (2010–2016), and has served as the Vice Chancellor of North Bengal University.
